====== Edge1 Install OS into eMMC via USB Tool ======

===== Introduction =====

This document mainly introduces how to use the USB flash tool to install the OS image to Khadas SBC onboard eMMC.

===== Install on Windows PC =====

==== Preparation ====

Dowload the [[dl>products/edge/usb_driver/driverassitant_v4.91.zip|DriverAssitant]],[[dl>products/edge/tool/androidtool_release_en_v2.71.zip|FlashTool]] and extract it to somewhere.

==== Install USB Drivers ====

  - Run ''driver_install.exe'' to install USB drivers.
  - Double click ''Install Driver'' to install.  \\ {{products:sbc:edge1:install-os:driver_install_install.png}}
  - Double click ''Uninstall Driver'' to uninstall. \\ {{products:sbc:edge1:install-os:driver_install_uninstall.png}}

==== Install the OS ====

  * Open ''AndroidTool.exe'', click ''Upgrade Firmware''-->''Firmware'' to choose an image for Edge. \\ {{products:sbc:edge1:install-os:android_tool_firmware.png}}
  * Connect Edge and PC with a USB-C data-cable (Edge will power-on automatically).
  * Put your board into [[/products/sbc/edge1/install-os/boot-into-upgrade-mode|Upgrade Mode]].
  * Your PC should have found your Edge device as a connected USB device, if you had correctly followed the instructions above.
    * Loader Mode: \\ {{products:sbc:edge1:install-os:android_tool_loader.png}}
    * Maskrom Mode: \\ {{products:sbc:edge1:install-os:android_tool_maskrom.png}}
  * Now all you need to do is to click the ''Upgrade'' button of the tool and wait for upgrading to complete. \\ {{products:sbc:edge1:install-os:android_tool_upgrade.png}}
